You have probably heard of travel Guides, but do you know what they are? Travel Guides are books designed for tourists. They typically contain detailed information about sights, transportation, activities, and accommodations. Some of them also include maps and cultural and historical information. However, they are not the only option. These are an excellent resource for anyone who plans to travel to a foreign country. Let’s explore the different types of travel Guides available.

Frommer’s

The Frommer’s Travel Guide was first published in 1957 and has grown to more than 350 books in 14 different series. The company has expanded into a television show, radio program, and website as well. In 2017, they celebrated their 60th anniversary. The company has also celebrated more than a century of publication, so you can be sure that you’ll find the best travel guide for your needs. Its most recent edition focuses on Italy, where it offers detailed maps and directions to the city.

Rick Steves

A Rick Steves travel guide is a good way to learn more about the different places you can visit. The American travel writer, activist, and TV personality is known for his philosophy of immersing yourself in the culture of his destinations. He encourages travelers to visit the less-touristy parts of a destination and explore its local culture. You can learn more about the Rick Steves travel guide by reading some of his reviews online.

Let’s Go

The Let’s Go travel guides began in the 1960s. The company commissioned artist Richard Copaken to design their trademark hot-air balloon logo. In addition to their maps, these guides also included a “general introduction” section. The series quickly became very popular, and in 1966 the company was featured on the Today Show. In addition to a large print run, Let’s Go guides are now available online. You can find over a hundred titles online.

Wikivoyage

The format of Wikivoyage travel guides is similar to that of Wikipedia, but instead of using the search bar to find specific articles, you can create your own by editing pages. You can also edit the text of individual articles to add recommendations or local secrets. You can also add images to enhance the content. If you want your travel guide to be particularly interesting, you can use the Wikivoyage “Talk” feature. This feature allows you to share your experiences with other users and improve the quality of your guide.

CityLeaves

For those of you traveling on a budget, CityLeaves’ guidebooks are a perfect choice. They’re available in a variety of languages, and include everything from information on where to eat to recommendations for the best places to go. They’re perfect for trips lasting a few days or a week. Plus, they’re designed with brevity and attention to current culture in mind. This makes them perfect for today’s short vacations.

Tripwolf

There are many different types of travel guides, and Tripwolf is one of them. The free app allows you to see a map of a city without an internet connection, saving you money on roaming charges when you’re abroad. The app is also available in several languages, and won the WYSTC award for best youth and student travel app in 2011.
